The organization of an advisory board on the humanities consisting of humanists drawn from the faculties of local universities and related institutions. Board to have 3 principle functions: 1) the formulation of long range Humanities based goals for TV; 2) to encourage program proposals for TV production; 3) to evaluate such proposals and those which merit presentation to NEH for funding will be forwarded. The City of Man : a series of TV programs suggested by Lewis Mumford's most general thesis in The City in History: that the city, throughout human history, has been the principle source and guardian of the cultural experience of mankind. Western, Asian, African, and Pre-Columbian civilizations cities would be used as examples.
