Utopian Communities in American Film Project

For research and development leading to completion of two pilot scripts and eight position papers for a series of ten one-hour filmed television programs on Utopia in America. The series will embody the entire religious and secular utopian/communitarian movement in U.S. history and will focus on individual communities. Common threads of inquiry concerning aspects of utopian communities and the function within the American character of the religious/ utopian ideal of a more perfect life will knit the programs together.
