To produce a 1/2 hour documentary film portraying the development and cultural heritage of the American West during the last half of the 19th century. Photography and drawings of William Henry Jackson (1843-1942), a noted pioneer photographer of the West, will provide the basis of the film. Jackson's collection of 40,000 glass plate negatives will be the primary resource for the film.
