WKMS-FM, which serves a largely rural region covering parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, and Missouri, will initiate intensive collaboration between area humanities scholars and station staff, for the purpose of developing ideas for humanities programming. Scholars and production professionals will investigate interrelationships between public broadcasting stations and humanities resources in other communities, for the purpose of identifying models for expanding its own humanities programming. Workshops, bringing together humanists and station staff, will evaluate program models outlining realistic programming for WKMS, as well as establishing means for continuously identifying programming possibilities in the future.
