To locate and preserve old film footage shot in the 1930s of western Alaskan Eskimos and to complete treatment for a documentary film incorporating portions of the old footage, comparing and contrasting their historic and contemporary culture and interpreting the social, cultural, and philosophical effects of change. One- hour film divided into two segments directed toward a general adult audience and suitable for TV and educational distribution will be produced.
