To produce a 20 program TV series to discuss major issues in a historical and humanisitic framework. Each program will present aspects of the subject as perceived today and connect the modern view with its tradition. Broadly concerned with "life and meaning," the series will deal specifically with: Old Age: A Paltry Thing; Death; Mourning; Woman: Seen Through Man's Eyes; Woman: Seen Through Women's Eyes; Sexuality; Love; Marriage; Singleness; Loneliness; Alienation; Identity; Authority in the State; War; Heroic Achievement; Family and Authority; and Values in a Valueless World. The visiting teams to communities will include a humanistic specialist and a social scientist; dialogue between the "scientist" and "humanist" will take place with the community group.
