To study the effect of television cartoons on youth's attitudes towards immortality. The fact that cartoon characters never die influences children's feelings about death. the televised cartoon will be studied in the following manner: 1) its history as an entertainment art form; 2) as an institution peculiar to American and therefore as a socialization process; 3) its deliberate attempt at confusing fantasy with reality and its lack of death themes; 4) the past, present and future cartoon programming.
