To document with recorded music, interviews, and photographs the tradtional instrumental music found in one region of the Southern Appalachians. To demonstrate to both college and secondary school students within the region the viability of folklore study as an intermediary between community and scholastic life. To increase for all persons involved their understanding to fold tradition and regional environment.
