To investigate the prehistoric cultural, technological, and enviromental conditions in the upper James River Basin. Data collected from intensive surface surveys and excavations will be correlated with defined geographical and ecological zones by computer to test the validity of various hypotheses regarding settlement patterns and biozone preferences.
