To research the social history of Memphis, Tennessee from the end of the Civil War to the beginning of World War I (1865-1914). To produce study kits for secondary schools consisting of slides, photographic enlargements, cassettes and periodicals concerning Memphis' social history during this era. To demonstrate to high school students the applicability of their scholastic work to their lives and to increase understanding of and appreciation for their heritiage and ancestoral development.
