Study of the Thought and Cultural Milieu of Gragory Bateson

FAIN: GY-10263-75

David M. Lipset
University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, MN 55455-2009)

To write a publishable essay on the thought of Gregory Bateson, an anthropologist turned psychologist, turned philosopher, a man whose life has direct links back to the ideas of Charles Darwin as well as to contemporary ecological thought. To propose that the history of ideas must be accompanied by the study of the cultural milieu out of which they emerge.
