To examine and make available information about James Wilson, the 1st globemaker in America, and to glean from his life lessons for the humanist of today. Research explores 3 areas; 1) Wilson's life, 2) the socio-economic conditions of New England from 1790 - 1860, and 3) early industry in New York and New England, specifically concerning the Globe Factory in Albany.
