To discover, catalog, and preserve on tape, in writing and in photographs information on the most common oral traditions and folklore of Evansville, Indiana, and several of the surrounding communities in Southwestern Indiana. To demonstrate through publications and presentations to local interest groups and high school students the necessity for broader understanding of an appreciation for their cultural heritage and their environment through the preservation of oral traditions.
