To document terrace formation and modification, to examine house constructions and material culture and to collect social and demographic data at Monte Alban, Oaxaca, Mexico, in order to provide insights into modern land terracing and comparative analogies for interpretation of prehistoric occupations. Through study of photos, maps and local archives knowledge of spatial organization, boundaries, house construction types, values, land tenure, access to public resources, demography will arise which will show how man modifies his local environment in order to survive.
