To preserve on tape and in writing a record of the origins, development and influence of the A.M.E., Baptist and Storefront Churches on the development of the Black Community of Kansas City. Five Students will conduct oral history interviews with local clergy, gospel music groups and church members. Recordings will also be made of gospel music and sermon styles still prevalent. This material will be used to produce a written history.
