To research and preserve in print and photos a record of the changing physical scene of Ivy City, the oldest residential area of Washington, DC. Phases of the project are: development of questionnaire and training of participants in critical historical research; survey of area resources; oral history interviews; production and dissemination of written history; exhibit newspaper and magazine articles will be prepared, particularly aimed at national publications with a Black heritage emphasis.
