To compile an archive of photographs and documentation of examples of American fire station architecture as they reflect regional style, technology, needs of fire stations, the role of fire companies as social institutions, and availability of materials. To collect written information from fire companies of historical archives. Project material will be accepted by the Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Division.
