To preserve on tape, in writing and photographs an accurate record of the black population of Davenport, Iowa. Church and official documents will be researched to learn who the first blacks to move to the town were. Oral interviews will be conducted with local residents; transcripts will be edited and bound for dissemination to state and local libraries.
