FAIN: LB-50090-12

Bristol Public Library Foundation (Bristol, VA 24201-4155)
Jessica Turner (Project Director: March 2012 to May 2024)

With support from our partner organizations, our program will work alongside Bristol's recurring events to develop a theme and schedule for the America's Music project. Our work with our partners will be to tie our films to existing events, such as Border Bash, the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion music festival, and the Birthplace of Country Music educational programming. Upon notification of award, we will begin scheduling our films in collaboration with our partners to ensure the best overlap of programming. Through our partnership, in addition to the film screenings and discussions held at the library, we anticipate holding concerts and other events in conjunction with films. Examples include concerts featuring gospel, blues, bluegrass, or rock artists; local speakers who can connect to early country music; country music radio and television industries; speakers from the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage; and other events.
