Consultation for an exhibition that explores cultural and artistic exchanges between Paris and New York in the early 20th century as context for the development of modernism.

Paris/New York: A Transatlantic Dialogue is an interpretive exhibition project planned for 2008 that will consider why and how travel and dialogue between Paris and New York during the first half of the twentieth century facilitated the growth of modern art. The project will reassess the broad patterns of migration in a focused examination of significant moments and key series of works that highlight the artistic process and historical context of their creation. Ultimately, the project will inform public audiences about this historical phenomenon and how cultures evolve over time, allowing us to connect our past with the present.
