Consultation for a traveling exhibition, a catalog, and related educational and public programs examining relationships between pilgrimage and Asian art.

The Asia Society seeks a Consultation Grant in the amount of $10,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities in support of Pilgrimage and Asian Art (working title), an international loan exhibition of approximately 100 objects, devoted to the rich artistic production inspired by the practice of pilgrimage in Asia. This grant will be used for the development of the exhibition and related audience development and education programs through a Consultation Workshop. The advisory committee, including curators, humanities scholars, public programs officers and museum educators, ahs been drawn from the most established humanities scholars in subjects related to the exhibition. Education experts and individuals experienced in exhibition design for youth audiences have also been invited to participate. The goal for this workshop is to develop a preliminary plan and format for the exhibition, related programming and educational materials.
