Implementation of a large traveling exhibition, a smaller format traveling version, and educational and public programs exploring immigration through the port of Galveston, Texas from 1845 to 1924.

The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum (TSHM) requests a Implementation Grant to produce and fabricate a traveling exhibition and accompanying public programs that will explore 3/4 of a century of immigration and slave migration through the Texas port of Galveston Island. Specific goals for this implementation grant are to host a humanities consultant's meeting to review the final content and interpretive approach; prepare and implement public support in underserved communities; conduct formative and summative exhibit evaluations; produce media programming for the exhibit; fabricate and install the exhibition; prepare the exhibition for travel; and produce a small format version of the exhibit designed to travel to community centers and libraries.
