The northeast of Brazil is an area to which Maine has been connected through the Partners of the Americas since the inception of that organization in the 1960's. Numerous people from Maine have traveled to the state of Rio Grande do Norte to share ideas and perspectives. Brazilians have visited Maine for the same purposes. There is a large constituency interested in this exhibition beyond the general public. UNE has three professors with expertise in this region.
