We are requesting funds to support humanities programs that will supplement the exhibition, including themes such as local amusement history, "by the seashore"-type programs, roller coaster history and mechanics, history of Coney Island through film and speakers, the idea of finding a home as an "other" in society, the history of fashion, and history of the late 1800s/early 1900s to explore why Coney Island and other amusements became so popular.
