The American Bar Association (ABA) Division for Public Education proposes to conduct the national implementation project: Civility and Free Expression in a Constitutional Democracy—A National Dialogue, under the Bridging Cultures initiative. This national implementation project will build upon our planning project, Civility and Free Expression in a Constitutional Democracy, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, under the Bridging Cultures initiative in 2010. The proposed national implementation project will include the following components: (1) thirteen public programs conducted in nine states; (2) national implementation project resources, including a public program resource guide, text discussion starters, focus questions, and topical videos to introduce the project subthemes and frame discussions; (3) national coordination; (4) technical assistance; (5) dissemination of project resources through local, state, and national media sources.
