A regional preservation field service program that provides preservation surveys, workshops, and educational materials to libraries, archives, museums, and historical organizations in the Southeast.

SOLINET proposes to provide regional preservation field services to libraries and archives in the Southeast. Services will be offered in 4 areas - education and training, information, publications, and consultations - to educate and inform librarians and archivists about preservation issues and assist them in taking appropriate steps to preserve their collections and ensure access for current and future patrons. Specific activities include 87 workshops (some in new distance education formats), 20 presentations, training tracks, 20 consultations, 20 site visits, and provision of an information service including web-based and print publications. Field Services will also collaborate with other organizations to share information nationally.
