Collections Stabilization for Northeast Historic Film and Seven Archival Storage Consortium Partners

FAIN: PA-50880-04

Northeast Historic Film (Bucksport, ME 04416-4027)
David S. Weiss (Project Director: October 2003 to May 2006)

Installation of climate control, fire suppression, and security systems for the protection of moving image collections held by Northeast Historic Film and seven partner organizations in the Northeast. Supplies for storing collections would also be purchased and a consultant hired to develop a database for inventory and circulation control.

Northeast Historic Film (NHF) and a consortium of seven non-profit organizations will establish a moving image Conservation Center to preserve significant original film and videotape records used by scholars and the public. Support from the NEH will allow NHF to equip, and the Archival Storage Consortium partners to use, the only regional moving-image preservation and handling facility in North America.
