Goddard College Corporation (Plainfield, VT 05667-9432)
Clara E. Bruns (Project Director: May 2004 to October 2005)

An assessment of the preservation, disaster response, security, and facility needs of the library as well as a review of collection policies and practices for archives related to the history of the college.

We seek funding for a consulting archivist to perform a collection survey of Goddard College Archives. The consultant will assess the preservation needs and environmental and storage conditions. The project will also include a review of existing policies and practices pertaining to access and use, and security. The goal is to develop a long-range plan that will allow us to address the overall preservation, access and security needs of the collection. Due to its uniqueness, the archives is the library’s preeminent collection. It documents the rich history of Goddard College. Most documents are in loose-leaf paper format and were gathered from former office files. Also included are a collection of photographs and a mixed A/V collection.
