Geneva Public Library (Geneva, IN 46740)
Rose Teeple Bryan (Project Director: May 2004 to October 2006)

A preservation assessment and creation of a management plan for the care of archives related to Indiana history. A consultant would also conduct training in the management and preservation of archives for library staff.

In an effort to preserve the historical past of the Geneva, Indiana area for future generations, the Geneva Public Library proposes to employ Noraleen A. Young, a public historian and certified archivist with expertise in the areas of archival administration, preservation, and related fields, to advise the library director in assessing the local history collection. This assessment would include a long-term plan for the care of the collection, a determination of the best and most cost effective preservation methods, an initial purchase of the most essential supplies, training of the director and other members of the staff and volunteers through a combination of in-house training and participation in regional preservation workshops.
