Records Center Preservation Assessment

FAIN: PA-51134-05

City of Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM 88001-1120)
Shirley Clark (Project Director: May 2004 to July 2007)

A preservation assessment for archives that document the history of Las Cruces, New Mexico, from the early 1900s to the present.

The City of Las Cruces Records Center will hire a consultant to evaluate and make recommendations on environmental and procedural methods. This will enable the development of short and long-term preservation strategies for historical city records. As the only municipal records center in southern New Mexico, the Records Center’s project ensures the preservation of documents that are a rich source of the history of southern New Mexico.
