Holly Ann Prochaska (Project Director: May 2005 to March 2008)

The hiring of a consultant to conduct a preservation assessment of the humanities collections and facilities in the libraries of the University of Cincinnati.

University Libraries (UL) serves the teaching and research needs of 35,000 undergraduates and graduate students, as well as 14,000 faculty and staff at the University of Cincinnati. While UL has made every effort to preserve and conserve the on-site collection (1.7 million volumes), the pace of collection growth has outpaced the level of staff available to effectively monitor, mend, and assess the collection. In order to improve and stabilize the condition of our existing collection and prepare for future collections, UL would like to hire a preservation consultant to assess the on-site humanities collection and facilities and develop a simple, clear preservation plan that focuses on processes and future directions.
