Rosenbach of the Free Library of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA 19103-6510)
Judith M. Guston (Project Director: May 2005 to October 2006)

The purchase of supplies for rehousing the museum's maps and broadsides and a collection of works by the writer and illustrator, Maurice Sendak, and the temporary storage of objects used for exhibitions and programs.

The Rosenbach Museum & Library is applying for an NEH Preservation Assistance Grant that will fund the purchase of supplies for rehousing the museum's collection of maps and broadsides. The Rosenbach also seeks to purchase additional shelves and drawers for its existing storage units to accommodate an increased number of objects in this collection as well as its growing collection of work by Maurice Sendak. And last, the museum seeks to purchase a combination of three storage cabinets that will supplement its object storage areas and provide ongoing, temporary protection and security for objects that move in and out of storage for projects such as exhibitions and programs.
