Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society (Onancock, VA 23417-0193)
Eleanor Mills Wehner (Project Director: May 2005 to July 2007)

The purchase of storage furniture and preservation supplies for birth, death, marriage and other vital records, manuscripts, personal correspondence, ledgers, photographs, and records related to the history of Virginia's Eastern Shore from the 17th through the 20th century.

The Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society seeks an NEH Preservation Assistance Grant for Smaller Institutions to purchase storage furniture and preservation supplies for the Archive and Library located in Ker Place (ca. 1800), the Society's headquarters and historic house museum. The grant funds will be used to complete the proper storage for the Society's archival collections of bibles, ledgers, scrapbooks, three manuscript collections and the Dr. John Robertson photograph and Bell glass slide negatives collections.
