Consultation with a preservation specialist and the purchase of storage equipment and archival supplies to rehouse 3,000 still images in a variety of formats that document the history and culture of St. Charles city and county from the mid 19th century to the present.

Award of a Preservation Assistance Grant for $5000 would enable the Frenchtown Heritage Museum (FHM) to purchase several units of open metal shelving that meet archival requirement, acid-free boxes and enclosures for the photographic types present in the collection as well as hire a consultant to begin rehousing and storage of the Museum's photo collection. The consultant would train the staff and volunteers to appropriately house and store the collection. During the grant period the consultant will also train how to evaluate originals, copy print and reproductions which are currently on display in teh Museum.
