Trinity University (San Antonio, TX 78212-4674)
Diane J. Graves (Project Director: May 2005 to March 2007)

The purchase of preservation supplies to rehouse glass plate, tintype, and gelatin images, slides, and other photographs related to the university's history and to life in San Antonio and in other south Texas cities and towns from 1869 to the present.

This Preservation Assistance Grant sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities will aid in supporting the continued existence and usability of archival materials located in the Special Collections Department of Trinity University’s Coates Library in San Antonio, Texas. The grant will launch this project by funding the purchase of materials necessary for the conservation of the Special Collections Department’s images related to the history of Trinity University and its relationship with three historic Texas cities (Tehuacana, Waxahachie, and San Antonio). This project follows a conservationist's formal survey in 2003 and the drafting of the Coating Library's disaster plan.
