Completion of volumes four and five of the "Dictionary of Virginia Biography." Each of the hardbound volumes will contain 500 entries. Volume four is scheduled for publication in 2009 and volume five for 2013.

The Dictionary of Virginia Biography, sponsored by the Library of Virginia, is a multivolume biographical reference work covering all aspects of Virginia's history and culture since 1607. The projected fourteen volumes will contain approximately 6,000 biographies of Virginians who made significant contributions to the history or culture of their locality, state, or nation or who achieved distinction in their professions or chosen fields. The DVB project received an NEH Reference Materials Grant for 2004-2006 (Grant #PA-50653-04). For the NEH grant cycle of 2006-2008, the DVB seeks assistance in completing its fourth and fifth volumes, covering approximately 1,000 names from Darden through Henry.
