Summit on Protecting Cultural Heritage in Iraq and Syria

FAIN: PB-234948-15

Archaeological Institute of America (Boston, MA 02108-3614)
Ann E. Benbow (Project Director: August 2015 to November 2016)

Travel expenses for five U.S. Advisory Council members and six Iraqi Advisory Council members, hotel costs for thirteen participants, and in-country transportation and administrative costs.

The Archaeological Institute of America, in partnership with the American Schools of Oriental Research, plans to host a two-day summit in Washington, DC, to bring together leaders of projects collecting data on cultural heritage in Iraq and Syria.  The goal is to reach agreement on data-sharing practices, as well as defining the areas of focus for each project, thus eliminating, or at least reducing, duplication of effort.
