The abatement of mold and
mildew growth caused by Hurricane Harvey in the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, hiring of a contractor associated with the architectural supervisor of the
air terminal’s preservation, as well as patchwork and painting of several
interior walls.
Our immediate needs are to repair all of the damaged windows, replace/repair the damaged roof and to repair the damage done to the interior sheetrock and plaster work. The windows and roof must be addressed first in order to ensure that the building is properly protected from the weather and so that we can ensure to the best of our ability that the terminal will not suffer from storm damage in the future. The interior repairs are also of immediate importance so that we can reopen the museum to the public and continue to carry out our programs. Because we foresee our insurance company contributing the majority of the funding needed for the roof and window repairs we are seeking assistance from you all to help aid us in making the interior repairs.
