The replacement of HVAC ductwork at Bayou Bend, a historic house museum listed on the National Register of Historic Places and administered by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, that was damaged during Hurricane Harvey.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) will utilize NEH grant funds to replace flood-damaged HVAC ductwork at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, the MFAH’s historic house museum dedicated to American decorative arts. The basement of the main house took on heavy flooding associated with Hurricane Harvey, damaging air-handling, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment that service the building. Replacing the damaged ductwork in Bayou Bend’s basement is a key element of the house’s full structural recovery, and will help ensure a comfortable and protective environment for museum visitors and the artwork and decorative art objects housed within.
