The Collections of the Caguas's Museum are at Risk due to the Lack of Electricity Which Causes Changes in Temperature and Hum

The move of the collections of the Museo de Arte de Caguas and the Museo de Caguas to a temporary secure space, Casa del Trovador, and the purchase an electric generator. The award will also support consultant fees and the purchase of supplies and equipment, including two dehumidifiers, packaging materials, personal protective gear, and cleaning supplies to help conserve and preserve the museums' collections that were damaged during Hurricane Maria.

The project consists of creating a temporary repository within a secure controlled environment free of humidity and mold with the purpose of assuring the conservation of the items most vulnerable within the collections of three museums: Caguas Museum, Caguas Art Museum and Casa Rosada Abelardo Díaz Alfaro.  The project also includes acquiring items and/or equipment such as: dehumidifiers, acid free materials and protective and maintenance materials to stabilize, disinfect and prepare the areas for its functionality again.  In addition, the contracting of a Arts Conservator for its evaluation and recommendations.
