The purchase of an electrical generator to help maintain adequate temperature and humidity conditions and the procurement of environmental monitoring equipment, bookcases, preservation and cleaning supplies, and dehumidifiers for a collection related to Puerto Rican architecture, history, art, and literature and damaged as a result of Hurricane Maria in 2017.

Hurricane Maria caused billions of dollars in damages in Puerto Rico and left the Museum Casa Roig without power, potable water, and communications for many months.  The NEH Chairman's Emergency Grant will provide the necessary funds to the University of Puerto Rico to acquire an electric generator and the necessary supplies to empower the Museum and preserve the Collections.
