A preservation field service program that provides surveys, workshops and seminars, technical consultations, and disaster assistance to libraries, archives, and historical organizations in the Northeast.

NEDCC requests support to enhance the capacity of its preservation field services to deliver preservation information to small- and medium-size cultural institutions impacted by the economic downturn. Many, if not most, of these institutions have recently experienced staff reductions, reduced or eliminated travels budgets, or lost funding. NEDCC will respond to the needs of these organizations by increasing its offerings of convenient and affordable training programs and expanding its digital services to encompass training and consultation. By helping institutions better understand and address their preservation challenges through workshop, webinars, conferences, surveys, publications, and reference and disaster assistance, NEDCC can help institutions preserve their vital humanities collections in these difficult economic times.
