In the current economic environment, the work done by the Amigos Imaging and Preservation Service is more important than ever. Cuts in funding cultural heritage organizations have many scrambling on how to care for their collections. Amigos IPS strives to work with organizations who must find solutions to their preservation and imaging issues while working with diminished funding. Since 1991, Amigos IPS has been serving the Southwest and other areas of the Western United States not assisted by a preservation and imaging field service. IPS plays a critical leadership role throughout the region by helping cultural institutions to preserve and make accessible their unique collections. With the continued support from the NEH, Amigos will be able to carry on its highly-regarded services to ensure continued access to the to the rich cultural legacy of the Southwest.
