Convening a national assembly of cultural organizations, newspaper publishers, and press associations to address the preservation of born-digital newspapers. The meeting would focus on the role of each stakeholder in ensuring that digital news content is preserved over the long term.

The Educopia Institute, in collaboration with the University of North Texas, Virginia Tech, and the University of Kentucky, requests funding to develop a national "Train-the-Advocate" program comprising in-person and Web-based modules. It will be used to train a national cadre of advocates who can facilitate the preservation of digital newspaper content and foster crucial new collaborative relationships between newspaper publishers, state and national press associations, and libraries and other memory organizations.
