FAIN: PG-280926-21

Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center (Wenatchee, WA 98801-3039)
Anna Spencer (Project Director: January 2021 to December 2024)

The purchase of supplies and equipment for the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center (WVMCC), located in two former federal post offices. This would include 10 rolls of ultraviolet light-filtering film and 60 ultraviolet light-filtering sleeves to protect Workers Progress Administration murals and collection storage areas, respectively. In addition, the applicant would purchase datalogging equipment to be used throughout the 18,000-square-foot collections space, as well as pest-control devices. This project follows the recommendations of a 2020 Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) report that outlined suggested training and equipment as critical first steps toward addressing collections care. This grant would also support the continuing education of the WVMCC collections coordinator through courses in collections management, preservation, and integrated pest management.

This project funds the procurement of environmental monitoring and pest monitoring collections care equipment and professional development to support use of this equipment to address issues raised in a 2020 CAPs report.
