The Center for Dubuque History: Assessing and Monitoring the Collection

A general preservation assessment of the archives at the Center for Dubuque History (CDH), as well as the purchase of environmental monitoring equipment and training in their use for CDH staff.

In order to ensure the longevity of the collections held by The Center for Dubuque History, those managing the collection need to know its condition and what dangers it faces. This project will allow us to utilize the experts at the Northeast Document Conservation Center to perform a preservation assessment and develop an environmental monitoring plan. These two pieces will allow us to better manage the collection and plan for the future.
