An assessment of the rare books collection held at the American Psychiatric Association’s Melvin Sabshin, M.D. Library and Archives, which consists of 1,700 volumes of bound materials dating from the 15th century to the present.

The collection-level assessment will assist us in developing a more comprehensive preservation plan to safeguard the historic value of the collection and will permit a safe way to exhibit, share, and use the collection
