FAIN: PG-50022-07

Ellwood House Museum (DeKalb, IL 60115-3232)
April Arrecis (Project Director: May 2006 to February 2009)

The purchase of supplies and furniture to house archival materials in Ellwood House, built in 1879 by Isaac Ellwood, one of the first manufacturers of barbed wire. The home was occupied until 1964 by several generations of the Ellwood family and contains original furnishings, art, accessories, textiles, tools, business papers, diaries, photographs, maps, ledgers, and other archival materials.

This project will focus on improving the storage conditions of archival materials in the Ellwood House Museum collection including large items requiring flat storage, photographs, documents (including correspondence, newsclippings, etc.), photographs and sheet music so that they may be better utilized for exhibits, educational programming, and research.
