The purchase of storage furniture and preservation supplies to rehouse maps, posters, and 800 photographs related to the history of Collin County, Texas, from the 1870s to the 1970s.
The Collin County Historical Society (CCHS) will purchase a ten-drawer, full suspension map case, and acid free folders in which to store its maps, posters, oversized photographs, and artwork. This is part of a $90,000 collections care program including library and archive compacting storage and new collections management software. CCHS has a $40,000 challenge grant from the McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC) for collections storage. This NEH grant will qualify CCHS for an additional $5,000 from the MCDC.
