Organizing and Preserving Littleton's Legacy

FAIN: PG-50092-07

Littleton Historical Society, Inc. (Littleton, MA 01460-2721)
Carolyn L. Mueller (Project Director: May 2006 to October 2008)

Purchase of storage furniture and preservation supplies for manuscripts, scrapbooks, genealogies, maps, and other records related to the history of Littleton, Massachusetts and surrounding areas from the early 18th century to the present. There would also be a preservation training for staff of local institutions.

The Littleton Historical Society requests support to purchase preservation supplies and shelving for books and archival collections related to local history. The project will provide for a consultant to make recommendations about organizing the collection, and advise volunteers involved in preserving documents. Staff members will be trained by a conservator in how to preserve the scrapbooks in the collection. The workshop will include staff from other local historical societies.
